Superior Overall Performance

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature an Engine Control Module, which regulates the HPDI® System to ensure superior power, fuel economy and reliability. Six individual sensors help the microcomputer optimize ignition timing and air/fuel mixture. Fuel is drawn through the fuel pump and vapor separator, then pressurized by the high-speed fuel pump to 700psi and sent into the fuel rails. Proven and reliable internal-opening fuel injectors provide a precise amount of fuel to each individual cylinder in a nearly atomized state, enhancing fuel distribution in the combustion chamber for maximum power and greater fuel economy.

Greater Acceleration

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature 76° V-block designs, which are compact and provide added torque for greater acceleration.

Max Fuel Atomization

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature a High-Speed Fuel Pump that pressurizes fuel to 700 psi for maximum fuel atomization and outstanding fuel economy and performance.

Fuel Distribution

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature Six Individual Fuel Injectors that open internally, enhancing fuel distribution and reducing the chance of carbon build-up.

Max Fuel Economy

The proven Homogeneous Combustion Chamber Design on Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s maximizes power and fuel economy in the critical 2500-5500 RPM range.

Smooth Running

The Vapor Separator Tank removes vapors from the fuel for smoother engine operation and increased reliability.

Added Power

Yamaha offers propellers specifically designed to harness the power and maximize the performance of our 200HP HPDI® and 2.6L V MAX® HPDI® two stroke outboards. Available in aluminum, painted stainless steel or highly polished stainless steel right and left-hand rotation.

Stay Charged

Yamaha 200HP two stroke HPDI®s feature a Multi-Charge Monitoring System that automatically monitors battery voltage and sends the alternator’s charging power to the battery that needs it most.

Very-Low Emissions

Yamaha HPDI® two strokes are California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) Two-Star Rated for Very-Low Emissions and meet all federal EPA requirements.

Proper Lubrication

A special Ion-Plated Top Piston Ring enhances durability and helps prevent oil from entering the combustion chamber. The oil bypass groove on the bottom piston ring delivers the precise amount of oil to the top ring and upper cylinder wall for even greater reliability.

Enhanced Durability

A special Heat Treated Crankshaft, connecting rods, and gears enhance durability for long engine life.

Corrosion Protection

Large Sacrificial Anodes in and around the engine draw corrosion away from vital, metal engine components.

Built Tough

Strong Forged Pistons add durability. Aluminum alloys are compressed in molds under extreme pressure, resulting in a much stronger piston on all HPDI®s.

Anti-Corrosive Barrier

Easy Engine Flushing

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature a forward-mounted Freshwater Flush Device makes it easy to completely flush the engine, in the slip or on the trailer, without running the engine.

Ample Charging Power

Yamaha two stroke HPDI®s feature a High Output Alternator to deliver an incredible 30 amps of charging power at 1,000 RPM, and up to 46 amps at approximately 3,500+ RPM. The result is plenty of charging power, even after prolonged idling or using multiple electronics while trolling at low RPMs.

Comfortable Steering

Counter Rotation dramatically reduces steering torque and arm fatigue, while providing more control and acceleration in twin and triple applications. (Available on 200 2.6L HPDI®.)
